Number of days
You only need to complete this section if, at any time during the income year, the eligible person:
- ceased to have legal responsibility for the child OR
- became or ceased to be an Australian resident OR
- had the child enter or leave their care (see explanation of 'care' under Important terms).
Only complete this section if the above points applied to the eligible person.
Write the number of days that the eligible person was an Australian resident and had legal responsibility for and care of the child at P on your claim.
Craig and Alison have a child, Andrew - date of birth 1 November 2001. Alison is the eligible person. They decide to leave Australia permanently and emigrate to Canada on 14 April 2002. Alison would write 165 at P on her claim as this is the number of days from Andrew's date of birth until the day she left Australia permanently.
