To check the progress of your refund you can ring 13 28 65. This is an automated service available 24 hours a day, every day. You will need your tax file number to use this service.
If you sent your baby bonus claim by ordinary post please wait 7 weeks before ringing to check on our progress with your claim. If you lodged over the Internet please wait 3 weeks.
People with a hearing or speech impairment
People with a hearing or speech impairment and with access to appropriate TTY or modem equipment can communicate with a tax officer through the National Relay Service on 13 36 77.

Translating and interpreting service
If you do not speak English and need help from the Tax Office, ring the Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS) on 13 14 50. TIS staff can assist with translating and interpreting in over 100 languages. Ask them to set up a 3-way conversation between you, an interpreter and a tax officer.
