  • ATO Online Superannuation Screens Communications Working Group key messages 28 August 2019


    Graham Whyte Second Commissioner, Superannuation ATO, welcomed the group to the ATO Online Superannuation Screens Communications Working Group.

    September deployment update

    • The ATO is looking at a September deployment of ATO Online changes (quarter 3). Deployment is scheduled for 15–16 September 2019.
    • A walkthrough of the ATO Online screens changes for the September Release was provided.
    • From September 2019, the most recent changes to ATO Online superannuation services enable individuals to a see new and updated screens and access services. These changes build on previous updates deployed in 2019. Changes include:
      • display of unused concessional contributions (new screen to support the first year of the unused concessional cap ie carry forward provisions)
      • Online Services for Agents (OSFA) – the ability to add/update electronic service addresses (ESA)
      • resolution of display rules surrounding excess transfer balance cap (to be confirmed)
      • the SuperTICK service has now been updated to remove the ability for super funds to submit account changes through this service
      • SMSF membership to display earlier, from the time the SMSF adds the member to the fund via the Australian Business Register (ABR)
      • SMSF membership will not be displayed where the fund has a non-complying status
      • changes to the first home super saver (FHSS) scheme screen wording, to reflect law changes
      • support material will be available including questions and answers (Help Aside), contact centre scripting, screen design changes and a narrative document.
    • ATO is developing a webinar to communicate the changes for September to stakeholders. This will show the screen changes and what the screens changes will look like for the client. A link to the webinar will be provided to this group and additionally be included in broader communications.
    • The ATO Online Simulator Tool is expected to be deployed in October. The tool will simulate the screens of ATO Online. The tool will include a number of scenarios to assist and raise awareness and understanding of what the ATO Online services are.
