    1. Welcome and introductions

    The meeting commenced at 9:30am (AEST).

    Chairperson Assistant Commissioner Colin Walker opened the meeting and welcomed all members and participants.

    Action item

    Members would like to see the beta site.

    ATO to provide a communication to the group that can be shared with clients, colleagues and professional association members. Communication to include:

    What is the same, what is different?

    Members were provided with links to a published list of handy tips to assist searching our site more effectively, and a link to keep up to date with changes at www.ato.gov.au/refresh.

    In addition members were provided with resources to share that included a:

    • fact sheet on what is changing / not changing and the beta site
    • screen tour of the new site.

    The Beta site is scheduled to be released at the end of August 2015. A communication will be sent to members when released to provide further information.

    Item 3 – Debt arrangements

    Action item

    Members would like the statistics on payment arrangement usage by BAS agents.

    Information pack to issue to BASAAG participants for sharing with their members.

    Post meeting update:

    Assistant Commissioner Michael Zeitlhofer has advised that Debt are unable to provide a breakdown of payment arrangement usage by the BAS agent segment as ATO systems do not capture this information. They will update the group if this capability changes in the future.

    Item 6 – SuperStream

    Action item

    Members asked to provide examples of cases where ‘blockers’ are preventing payments from showing in member accounts. Are these blockers pre-existing issues or SuperStream issues?

    National Program Manager Philip Hind to follow up on examples provided.

    2. Monthly pay as you go (PAYG) instalments

    The government introduced legislation in 2012 which affects taxpayers who are eligible to lodge and pay their PAYG instalments monthly instead of quarterly.

    This item was to provide information for BAS agents who may have clients affected by the change and discuss with members any concerns regarding the administration resulting from the change.

    Due to presenter illness and technical issues with teleconferencing this item was not discussed at the meeting.
