• 4. Tax Effect Accounting Working Papers

Jeff Stevenson informed members of the information we are seeking from large business taxpayers in respect of tax effect accounting working papers.

    • These papers are being requested as part of the disclosures required under the Pre-lodgment Compliance Review (PCR) process. Provision of these working papers provides an opportunity for the PCR team to identify potential risks and engage in meaningful discussion with the taxpayer prior to lodgment and seeks to reduce the cost of compliance over time.
    • A meeting was subsequently held in late November 2014 with representatives from CTA, Ernst and Young, and PricewaterhouseCoopers to workshop case examples of the types of information we have requested.
