Words we use

Employer means boss or manager.

Employee means worker or staff.

JobMaker Hiring Credit means payments to help employers give jobs to young people.

The coronavirus (COVID-19) changed many businesses in Australia.

Some businesses closed or made less money. You may have lost your job.

The JobMaker Hiring Credit will help businesses.

Some employers may get money so they can hire more employees who are 16 to 35 years old.

There are rules about who can get the JobMaker Hiring Credit.

You and your employer both have to meet the rules.

If you get a new job talk to your employer and ask them if you both meet the rules.

If you both meet the rules, the employer will give you a form to fill in.

If you have two jobs, you can only fill in the form for one employer.

The JobMaker Hiring Credit is paid to your employer, not you.

If you get money from Services Australia, you need to tell them about any money you get from a new job.

You do not need to tell Services Australia that your employer is getting JobMaker Hiring Credit payments.
