  • Lodging a tax return from Norfolk Island

    The Australian financial year runs from 1 July – 30 June.

    If you are preparing and lodging your own tax return, it is due by 31 October.

    If you are using a registered tax agent, your tax return can be lodged later than 31 October. This is because most registered agents have special lodgment arrangements with us. If you are using a tax agent, ensure you contact them before 31 October.

    Do you need to lodge a tax return?

    Unless you qualify for an exemption, you will need to lodge a tax return if either:

    • you had tax taken from any income you received during the financial year
    • you ran a business during the financial year.

    To lodge online with myTax you'll need a myGov account linked to the ATO.
