    If you are in financial difficulty as a result of a disaster, you may be able to get early access to a refund from a tax return or activity statement. In limited circumstances you may also be able to access your superannuation.

    Faster processing of refunds

    If you are expecting a refund from an income tax return or activity statement, we may be able to arrange for your refund to be issued as a priority.

    Early access to super

    In the event of a disaster, your super provider may pay you a benefit from your super if you meet certain strict conditions of early release.

    In the following circumstances you may be able to access your super early, including:

    In the case of death, the super provider will pay any benefits to the dependants of the deceased, the beneficiaries of the deceased estate, or both. Contact the relevant super provider to discuss access to superannuation in the case of a death.
