  • Trans-Tasman Retirement Savings Portability scheme

From 1 July 2013, the Trans-Tasman Retirement Savings Portability scheme makes it possible for you to transfer your retirement savings from New Zealand to Australia (or the reverse) after you migrate from one country to the other.

The transfer is voluntary for members and voluntary for funds to accept. Check with your Australian super fund to see if they are participating in the scheme.

You may only transfer retirement savings between a New Zealand KiwiSaver scheme and a complying fund regulated by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA).
