  • Update your contact details or authorised contacts

    There are a number of ways you can update your contact details and authorised contacts (your nominated representatives):

    Online using the ATO app or in your myGov account

    The quickest way to update your contact details is in ATO online using the ATO app or from your myGov account. You can update your:

    Update your details for all linked services

    To update your address, email and contact phone numbers with all services you use on myGov:

    • sign in to your myGov accountExternal Link
    • from the menu, select Account settings
    • go to 'Update personal details with linked services'
    • select Update your details
    • choose from the 'Personal details' options  
      • Update your address
      • Update your email address
      • Update your contact numbers
       
    • type in your updated details and select Update to save your changes.

    Update your details for the ATO only

    To update your contact details (address, emails and contact numbers) with us only:

    • sign in to your myGov accountExternal Link
    • go to 'Services' and select ATO from your linked services, which takes you to ATO Online
    • from the menu select My profile then Personal details
    • go to 'Contact details', select the button next to the details you want to update and type in your updated contact details
    • select the box to sign your declaration and select Save.

    Update your contact details using the ATO app

    To update your contact details (addresses, emails and contact numbers) using the ATO app:

    • sign in to the ATO app
    • go to 'More' and select My details
    • go to 'Personal details' and select Update, which takes you to ATO Online
    • follow the steps in Update your details for the ATO only to update your details in ATO Online.

    Update your authorised contacts in ATO online

    To update your authorised contacts:

    • sign in to your myGov accountExternal Link
    • go to 'Services' and select ATO, which takes you to ATO Online
    • from the menu, select My profile then Personal details
    • go to 'Authorised contacts' and to
      • add a new authorised contact, select Add
      • update or remove an existing authorised contact, select the button next to your existing contacts details and type in your updated authorised contacts details
       
    • select the box to sign your declaration and select Save.

    If you update your details in this way, you will only update your income tax details with us.

    Update your authorised contacts using the ATO app

    To update your authorised contacts using the ATO app:

    • sign in to the ATO app
    • go to 'More' and select My details
    • select View and update additional details via ATO Online, including authorised contacts
    • select Add for either
      • 'Primary contacts'
      • 'All contacts'
       
    • type in the updated details
    • select the box to sign your declaration and select Save.

    Download and fill out the form Change of details for individuals and post it to the address on the form.

    It can take up to 28 days to update your records after we receive the form.
