  • Single Touch Payroll helps your employees

    1 December 2020

If you report through Single Touch Payroll (STP) and have employees who receive Centrelink payments, your business information will appear in their Centrelink online account.

    They will see:

    • your organisation's name
    • your Australian business number (ABN)

This is a result of our STP data-sharing arrangement with Services Australia to assist their administration of the welfare system.

It means people who are on an income support payment and are required to report their employment income fortnightly to Centrelink will have their employer details prefilled for them.

The changes will make it easier for your employees to report their employment income.

If you're already using STP, you don't need to do anything to make this change.

If you're yet to begin reporting through STP, find out how to get started.
