    Fuel tax credit rates increased on 1 February 2017 and change regularly. Ensure you use the correct rates when you lodge your business activity statement (BAS) to claim the full amount you are entitled to.

    How to calculate your claim

    Our fuel tax credit calculator contains the latest rates and is quick and easy to use. You can use it to work out the fuel tax credit amount to report on your BAS. Alternatively, to find the latest rates, use our fuel tax credit rates table which is now easier to read.

    Claim less than $10,000 each year?

    If you claim less than $10,000 in fuel tax credits per year you can choose simplified ways to keep records and calculate your claim. You can:

    • use the rate that applies at the end of your BAS period, even if rates changed during that period.
    • use a range of documents to support your fuel tax credit claims including contractor statements, financial institution account statements, point-of-sale dockets and supplier invoices.
