Whether you’ve been in business for a while or you’re just starting out, there’s a lot you can learn from other people’s experiences.
Our new Community Voices video series features people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds talking about navigating life in Australia. They share stories about starting their own businesses and learning about tax, super and the ATO.
You’ll meet Karan, who opened his restaurant and catering company in 1987. He talks about the changes he’s seen in his industry over the past 3 decades and how his business has adapted to thrive. He shares what drew him to hospitality and how planning ahead and getting the advice of a tax professional can set your business up for success.
You’ll also meet Hanna, a sole trader who moved from Poland to Australia. Hanna talks about moving with her family and her experiences setting up a new business in a new country. She shares challenges she faced, and how the ATO helped her feel confident that she was on the right track.
