2 December 2019
If you've been impacted by the recent catastrophic bushfires in New South Wales and Queensland, we want you to focus on getting your other affairs in order and not worry about your tax at this time.
If your business or residential address is in an identified impacted postcode, we've automatically applied a two month deferral for activity statement lodgments and payments due. You or your agent don't need to apply for a deferral.
For monthly BAS normally due on 21 December, the new deferred date is 21 January 2020.
We've also automatically fast tracked your refund if you have one due to you.
Employers will still need to meet their ongoing super guarantee obligations for employees.
When you're ready, phone us on 1800 806 218 for help and advice. There are many ways we can help you with your tax affairs, including reconstructing your records if they have been destroyed.
If you are affected and not in one of the impacted postcodes, phone us on 1800 806 218, and we can provide support based on your individual circumstances.
