  • New features for myGovID and RAM

Use your Australian visa to verify your identity

You can now use your Australian visa (including electronic visas) to verify your identity in the myGovID app if you’re a permanent or temporary resident of Australia.

To verify your Australian visa online you’ll need to enter the details of your foreign passport in your myGovID app. For help, go to www.mygovid.gov.au/visaExternal Link.

If you have a Basic myGovID, you may be eligible to upgrade to a Standard myGovIDExternal Link, giving you the ability to have more access to government online services.

If you're upgrading and are currently authorised as a Basic user in Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM), discuss your access requirements with your principal authority or authorisation administrator. To change your level of access, they'll need to create a new authorisation for you.

Making it easier to manage authorisations and access

If you're a principal authority or authorisation administrator, you can now:

    • View user access to online services using the Access history report in Access Manager. This report can be created for one or all authorised users and includes the date, time of log in and online service accessed.
    • Export the details of authorisations into a spreadsheet format (CSV file) from RAM.

Also, if you’re a principal authority and have linked a not-for-profit organisation in RAM, you’ll receive a notification via email if another principal authority also links.
