  • Missed the STP start date? It's not too late to get started

Small employers had until 30 September to start reporting through Single Touch Payroll (STP). We recognise that STP may be a significant change for some not-for-profit organisations, but it’s important to engage with us as soon as possible to help you get started.

There are three options available to help you transition:

    Start reporting

If you already use accounting or payroll software, check whether it offers STP reporting. If it does, enable the STP function and start reporting straight away. If you’re looking for software or need to upgrade, we have a list of providers that offer STP reporting products.

    Apply for a reporting concession

Not-for-profit clubs or associations who are micro employers with one to four employees can apply with a registered agent to report quarterly until 30 June 2021.

    Ask for more time

If you're not ready to report through STP, or you can’t because of your location and access to services, you can ask us for more time by applying for a deferral or exemption.

The option you choose will depend on your circumstances but it's important to start reporting or get in touch with the ATO as soon as possible.
