  • Your STP finalisation declaration is due soon

As part of your not-for-profit organisation's STP obligations, you are required to finalise your employees' 2020–21 payroll information by 14 July.

However, we recognise the impacts of COVID-19 on the Australian community. If you need additional time, you can complete your STP finalisation up until 31 July.

It's important that you finalise your employees' data by 14 July if you can, and let your employees know when you have so they can lodge their income tax returns.

You will need to finalise your 2020–21 financial year data by making a finalisation declaration through your STP-enabled software. Doing this means you don't need to provide payment summaries to your employees or lodge a payment summary annual report (PSAR) to us.

If you are unsure how to finalise your STP records:

    • read more about end-of-year finalisation through STP
    • contact your software provider
    • speak with a tax professional
    • call us on 13 28 66.

If you can't make a finalisation declaration by your due date, you will need to apply for a deferral.
