  • Is your community shed DGR endorsed?

Community sheds, including men's sheds and women's sheds, can now apply to be a deductible gift recipient (DGR). DGR endorsement means that donations of $2 or more made to your shed will generally be tax deductible.

There are a number of requirements your shed needs to meet to be eligible to apply for DGR endorsement. Our Community sheds webpage has more details about these.

    Your community shed needs to:

    • have the characteristics of a community shed – which includes the dominant purpose and membership requirements
    • have an active ABN
    • be located in Australia
    • be registered as a charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC)
    • have a DGR winding up and revocation clause.

Before applying it is important you make sure your governing documents reflect how your shed meets the DGR characteristics and include a DGR wind up and revocation clause.
