  • Cyclone Debbie declared a disaster for tax purposes

    The Minister for Revenue and Financial Services, the Hon Kelly O'Dwyer MP, has declared Tropical Cyclone Debbie and associated rainfall and flooding a disasterExternal Link for the purposes of establishing Australian disaster relief funds.

    Donations to Australian disaster relief funds established to provide relief to the impacted communities will be tax deductible for a period of two years from 28 March 2017, when the cyclone made landfall in Queensland.

    The funds will need to apply for formal endorsement and we are available to assist with this process. Applications will be given priority to ensure those affected by the disaster are assisted quickly.
