Types of income tax exempt organisations

Not all not-for-profit organisations (NFP) are exempt from income tax. The tax law tells us the types of NFP organisations that can be exempt from income tax.

Registered charities are a type of exempt entity. There is an endorsement process for charities to be exempt from income tax. They cannot self-assess whether they are exempt.
