  • HECS indexation rates

    Prior to the introduction of HELP, accumulated Higher Education Contribution Scheme (HECS) debts that remained unpaid for 12 months or more were indexed on 1 June each year so that the value of the debt kept pace with changes in the cost of living.

    This table shows the indexation rate applied to HECS debts from 1990 to 2005:
