    Provision of Unclaimed Superannuation Money (USM) account information

    In the absence of SuperMatch2, the ATO will offer an option for interested super funds to be provided with USM account information for their members. The information is available for funds to contact their members and encourage them to reunite with their lost superannuation. Individual members who have had contributions reported by only one fund in the last year will be included.

    To assist with the timely transfer of their members’ USM, funds should promote the use of myGov for these transfers.

    Where the member is unable to access myGov, the ATO will provide limited assistance in the processing of files where member consent has been obtained by the funds. The timeframe for the ATO completing this process will be delayed compared to what myGov applications will be able to achieve.

    The ATO's bulk data exchange (BDE) will be used to facilitate the sending and receiving of the data. Details of the consent data format and how it is to be returned will be provided when the ATO issues the member information.

    What you need to do

    If you would like to obtain the USM account information for your members, please send an email to by 18 March 2016.

    In your email please include

    • The date of your intended reuniting campaign,
    • When you expect to return the consent information to the ATO, and
    • Your contact details (name, phone number and email address) if you require BDE access.
