Reminder about the SuperStream compliance extension

The ATO has announced that it is providing small businesses additional time to complete their SuperStream implementation, with compliance flexibility extended until 28 October 2016.

The announcement was made via a media release on Wednesday 22 June.

In announcing the compliance flexibility extension, small businesses were advised that the ATO will not be taking compliance action against those who miss the 30 June SuperStream deadline.

The ATO is providing an additional four months for small businesses to find a suitable SuperStream solution and make the required changes.

As a result, all funds will be required to continue accepting super guarantee contributions from employers in all payment and data formats, including cheques during this period.

We encourage you to continue working with employers to help them find a suitable SuperStream solution and support them in becoming compliant prior to 28 October.

    For more information

Small businesses that need help with their SuperStream preparation can use the ATO’s employer checklist or register for a webinar.
