Helping employers get ready for Single Touch Payroll

We will be contacting employers to remind them of their reporting obligations and so you can prepare for any enquiries you receive, we have provided you a copy of the employer letter.

Single Touch Payroll reporting starts from 1 July 2018 for employers with 20 or more employees. Employers with 19 or less employees will start reporting from 1 July 2019 – subject to legislation passing in Parliament.

In March, we'll be writing to larger employers to remind them from 1 July they'll need to report the following information through a Single Touch Payroll-enabled solution:

    • employee payments, such as salaries and wages
    • pay as you go (PAYG) withholding
    • super information.

They can also ask a third party, such as a payroll service provider or tax professional, to report on their behalf through a Single Touch payroll-enabled solution.
