  • Collaboration key to success

At the first Superannuation Engagement Industry Forum for 2018, Australian Taxation Office (ATO) Deputy Commissioner of Superannuation James O'Halloran presented the key note address to recognise achievements from collaboration, focus, and a joint commitment across industry and from the ATO.

Mr O'Halloran outlined what we had in common was the desire to find better ways to engage across industry and with fund members, to deal with convergence, and to plan for the future.

'It is pleasing to note that together we have transformed this desire into tangible aspects in the last 12 months,' Mr O'Halloran said.

He continued by commenting on furthering engagement between the ATO and industry.

'Some of these include continuing to bring together the Transaction Services Working Group and its members, to co-design, to work through any issues, and most recently, to share learnings from the ATO and industry from the first funds regarding their on boarding experience through their Member Account Attribute Service (MAAS) limitation.'

The transformation changes and reforms are continuing into 2018-19 and Mr O'Halloran said we needed to remain focused and competent to ensure we develop on our successes and our transformational pathway.
