  • Latest improvements to ATO Online for fund members

We've finalised the final quarter IT Program release for 2019.

While there were no new services released for the superannuation screens, we have made a number of improvements for fund members using ATO Online.

In particular, members with adjusted excess transfer balance (ETB) transactions will now be able to see transactions currently not displayed on ATO Online.

These transactions occur when an ETB determination can’t be amended or revoked but where it’s otherwise necessary to adjust an individual’s ETB earnings and transfer balance.

While this may only occur for a small number of individuals, amended amounts of ETB earnings now display on the transfer balance cap screen so the member can see the adjustment transaction and understand why the running balance is updated.

Other improvements include members of a self-managed super fund (SMSF) without an Australian business number (ABN) can now make an election using ATO Online in relation to: excess concessional or non-concessional contributions or Division 293.

Previously, when lodging an election, individuals would follow a series of on-screen prompts that allowed them to elect the fund and amounts to release. If an SMSF didn't have an ABN, it wouldn't appear on these screens.
