  • Scheduled ATO systems upgrade

Over the next few weeks our systems will undergo a scheduled system upgrade where individuals will not be issued with determinations.

    Possible increase in member enquiries

These scheduled system updates are not expected to impact funds or individuals, but funds may expect a small increase in enquiries from members who were expecting to receive a determination.

The system will resume issuing determinations from November 2018.

    Informational alerts

For users requiring further information, alerts will be posted to ATO Online in relation to:

    • excess concessional contributions (ECC) elections
    • excess non-concessional contributions (ENCC) elections
    • total super balance (TSB) arrangements
    • bring forward arrangements.

    Scheduled system upgrades

    • Clients receiving determinations for the 2016–17 and prior financial years will temporarily cease from 14 September 2018.
    • Determinations for ECC and ENCC will be limited from 18 October 2018.
    • Processing will resume in full after the scheduled system upgrades (2 November 2018).
    • Elections forms processing will temporarily cease from 24 September until mid-November 2018.
    • Release authorities will not be issued whilst elections are not being processed.
    • Some ATO Online pages in myGov will be unavailable from 28 September until mid-October.
    • While ATO Online pages are unavailable in myGov, individuals will be unable to make elections online, but will have the ability to make elections via paper election form.

    TSB and ATO Online screens

    • From mid-October, TSB duplication issues should be resolved and display correctly on ATO Online. Additionally, individuals will be able to see their updated TSB for 30 June 2017 and 30 June 2018.

    ECC election screen

    • In mid-October, the new ECC election form will be available on ATO Online for any financial year.

    • In late October, individuals will be able to make an ENCC election for any financial year on ATO Online.

    Bring forward arrangement

    • Individuals will now be able to see their updated bring forward arrangements for all financial years on ATO Online.
