  • SMSF member verification service

APRA-regulated super funds must use the self-managed super fund (SMSF) member verification service (MVS) to confirm if a member requesting a rollover to an SMSF is a member of that SMSF.

You can access MVS through the Online services for businessExternal Link login page, by selecting Login to use SMSF member verification services, using your myGovID. Your myGovID needs to be linked to the fund in Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM).

From the end of September 2021, funds must use the new SMSF verification service (SVS) instead of the MVS to verify SMSF details before making a rollover.

We are aware that some funds require time to transition from using the MVS to using the SVS. The MVS function will continue to be available until 5.00pm AEST on 24 September 2021, from the Online services for business login page.

    Access and permissions

    Principal authority

If you're the principal authorityExternal Link of the fund, you need to link your myGovIDExternal Link to the fund in RAM.

Once linked, you can access the SMSF member verification system on behalf of the fund and authorise employees and others access. This includes, setting up authorisation administrators who can also set up authorisations.

RAM is connected to Access Manager. This means when you authorise someone using RAM, you can set their permissions for our online services in Access Manager at the same time.

If access is no longer required for an employee, a principal authority or authorisation administrator can remove access via RAM or directly through Access Manager.
