  • Giving practical advice to SMSF investors

In 2012 the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) set up a self-managed super fund (SMSF) taskforce to look at risks in the SMSF sector.

ASIC has released its first report from the taskforce, which looks at improving the quality of advice given to investors.

The taskforce reviewed the quality of a sample of SMSF advice given to investors.

The report summarises the findings from the SMSF file reviews and identifies a number of practical tips that you as an advice provider can use to improve the quality of SMSF advice you provide to investors.
