  • SMSF measures awaiting royal assent

    Treasury Laws Amendment (2018 Superannuation Measures No.1) Bill 2019External Link was passed by parliament on 19 September and now awaits royal assent.

    Once the Bill becomes law it will impact how some self-managed super funds (SMSFs) report limited recourse borrowing arrangements (LRBAs) and non-arm's length income (NALI),from the 2018–19 financial year onwards.

    What this means

    Until the Bill receives royal assent, you should continue to report information as instructed in the existing 2019 SMSF annual return.

    When the Bill becomes law, we'll update our web content and relevant instructions and advise you in future newsletters of what action is required.
