For a new member registration an employer must give the following information to the fund – unless the employer has made reasonable efforts to get the information from the employee and been unable to do so:
- employee’s full name
- employee’s residential address
- employee’s tax file number (TFN)
- employee’s date of birth
- employee’s sex.
Validating registrations using SuperTICK
You must use the SuperTICK service to validate initial registration information no later than three business days after receiving the required information from an employer.
You don’t have to validate this information if the employer has made a contribution to the fund for this member before 1 July 2014.
APRA has indicated that it does not expect trustee reporting of breaches of this requirement until after 1 July 2015.
Alternative arrangements allow an employer to send data to funds in a non-SuperStream format if employers meet certain conditions. By doing so, the employer is complying with the SuperStream Standard and you must use the SuperTICK service to validate initial registration information.
For a new member registration the employer must provide certain minimum information, and the fund must use SuperTICK to validate the initial registration information.
