  • Activity statements

    The BAS Agent Portal allows you to receive and lodge pre-populated activity statements online. You can also revise activity statements and view a history of activity statements that have been lodged, processed, cancelled or discontinued.

    The functions you can perform with client records will depend on the permissions assigned to your AUSkey through Access Manager. Standard AUSkey users will need to have been given authorisation through Access Manager by an Administrative AUSkey holder.

    For more information about an activity statement, send us a message via Mail, located in the left menu of the portal.

    On 1 July 2017, we introduced changes to activity statement screens within the BAS Agent Portal. The changes mean:

    • the look of the activity statement screens changed
    • you can complete a Nil business activity statement with just one click – there is no need to fill each label with a zero
    • you can take advantage of the reporting changes
    • you can resume a partially prepared activity statement with any computer using the new save function.

    Types of activity statement available

    • Business activity statement (BAS)
    • Instalment activity statement (IAS)
    • Annual goods and services tax (GST) return
    • Quarterly GST instalment notice
    • Annual income tax instalment notice
    • Consolidated activity statement.

    The following activity statements are not available in the BAS Agent Portal:

    • annual GST information report
    • 2001 annual GST return.

    Accessing activity statements

    You can access a client's activity statements in several ways:

    • Enter your client's Australian business number (ABN) under Your clients on the portal home page and select Activity statement from the drop-down menu.
    • Select Your clients – Information from the left menu, enter your client's ABN and select Activity statement from the drop-down menu.
    • Select Your clients – Directory from the left menu, then select Show list. Select a client from the list and select Activity statement.
    • Select Activity statement from the left menu when the client is currently in view.

    You cannot search for withholder payer number (WPN) clients from the portal home page.

    You will need to use the Client directory and search for the WPN client by name.
