  • Annual office closure and systems availability

    Our offices will close for the festive season at midday Tuesday 24 December 2019 and reopen at 8.00am Thursday 2 January 2020.

    During this time, we will undertake major system upgrades. From midday AEDT 24 December most of our systems will progressively become unavailable. Check the start and finish times on our system maintenance page and the practitioner lodgment service (PLS)External Link and Agent online servicesExternal Link dashboards.

    If you plan on working during our office closure period, your system access will be limited. You will have access to:

    • Single Touch Payroll (STP). You will still be able to report using STP, but these records will not be processed or visible until our systems are available in the new year.
    • SuperTICK Single request service (SRP).
    • Payments via BPAY, EFT or Australia Post. You and your clients can still make payments, but these will not be visible until our systems are available. Payments will be progressively updated from 2 January 2020.
    • Our Technical help deskExternal Link. You can contact the help desk about AUSkey and myGovID issues from 7.00am to midnight, excluding public holidays.
    • Most of our website. Forms, tools or calculators will not be available. We will not update content, including our system maintenance and troubleshooting pages during the closure period.


    You will not be able to lodge returns, activity statements and forms during the office closure.

    We may not process returns, activity statements and forms lodged after 16 December until the new year.

    Lodgment deferral requests processed after 13 December 2019 may not display on your client’s record until the new year.

    Small Business Superannuation Clearing House (SBSCH)

    Between 17 and 24 December we will continue to accept payments, but they will not be processed until 2 January 2020.

    Tax return status email

    We will send our last Tax return status email that reports the actions we are taking when processing your clients' tax returns on 18 December 2019. These emails will resume on 8 January 2020.

    News and alerts

    Tax professionals alert emails and SMS alerts will not issue during the office closure.

    Our last Tax professionals newsletter for 2019 (both the tax agent and BAS agent editions) will issue on 18 December. The newsletters will start again on 15 January 2020.
