  • Check income data before lodging

    Sometimes your clients' assessment may differ from what they expected. This is because we found incorrect or missing income when cross-checking third party data provided to us, and made an adjustment to correct their return.

    To help streamline processing for you and your clients, where we can we will adjust a return before the notice of assessment issues. If we make adjustments, you can refer to the notice of assessment to help you explain the changes to your clients.

    To help ensure the accuracy of your clients' returns and avoid processing delays:

    • advise your clients they need to accurately report all income in their tax return
    • use the pre-filling service immediately before lodging, to cross-check the data your clients have provided with the information we hold.

    If you have any issues or concerns with an adjustment we have made, phone us on 13 72 86 Fast Key Code 1 2 5 2. We will identify the source of the information used in the adjustment, and if required, initiate a review of the decision. You will not need to lodge an objection.
