  • Child Care Subsidy recipient's reminder to lodge 2018-2019 tax returns

If your client and/or their partner has not lodged their 2018-19 Individual tax return with the ATO by 31 March 2021, their access to ongoing Child Care Subsidy (CCS) will stop. This means they will pay the full cost of their childcare.

If your client is not required to lodge a tax return for 2018-19 but has not yet informed the ATO or Services Australia, you should notify us by 31 March 2021. We also suggest your client notifies Services Australia.

Note: If you requested an extension to lodge the Individual 2018-19 tax return with the ATO for after 31 March 2021, this will not prevent Services Australia from stopping access to the CCS. Services Australia can assist those who have special circumstances preventing them or their partner from lodging before the deadline.

The Child Care Subsidy is administered by the Department of Education, Skills and Employment. For all enquiries regarding the Child Care Subsidy, please contact the Department of Education, Skills and EmploymentExternal Link.
