  • SMSF alerts and what triggers them

Since February 2020 we have been issuing alerts via email and SMS to self-managed super funds (SMSF) trustees when certain changes are made to their fund. This often occurs when you lodge their annual return.

An alert may issue for changes to:

    • financial institution account details
    • electronic service address
    • authorised contact
    • members.

Anytime you update these details for a client, you should let them know:

    • why the changes have been made
    • to expect an alert from us
    • no action needs to be taken by them.

These alerts are being sent to SMSF trustees to ensure they are aware of changes and to mitigate the risk of them being fraudulently changed. If they are not made aware, they may be concerned that changes have been made without their knowledge.

To ensure they receive these alerts, make sure we have the correct mobile phone number and email address.

If the trustees receive an alert and you are both unaware of changes being made, phone us on 13 10 20 between 8.00am and 6.00pm AEDT, Monday to Friday.
