• Open Forums

    Open Forums are an opportunity to meet with us in your area. They form part of our broader engagement strategy with registered tax and BAS agents.

    The intent of the forums is to:

    • hear directly from you about matters affecting you, your practice and the broader tax professional community
    • provide an opportunity to raise questions for discussion and interact with us in an open environment
    • allow us to share information on matters of key importance.

    What we discuss

    Our current discussion covers, but is not limited to:

    • Technology, services and support for tax practitioners including:  
      • the practitioner lodgment service
      • improving online services and the Tax and BAS agent portals
      • the Client communication list
      • the new partnership framework
       
    • Digital services including:  
      • AUSkey alternatives
      • future initiatives such as Single Touch Payroll and Digital by default
      • accessing our services with your voice and the latest features in the ATO app
       
    • Employer obligations including:  
      • information and tips on how to correct common issues
      • our review process now and into the future
      • key reporting requirements such as Taxable payments and Taxable payment annual reports
       
    • The payment experience and what it means for your clients
    • Superannuation update
    • News and emerging issues from the Tax Practitioners Board

    Your attendance at an Open Forum may contribute towards your continuing professional education (CPE) with the Tax Practitioners BoardExternal Link.
