    We have three types of alert services:

    1. Tax professionals alerts – email (optional subscription service)
    2. Tax professionals alerts – SMS (optional subscription service)
    3. Dashboards – Agent online services and the practitioner lodgment service (PLS)

    Tax professionals alerts

    We send Tax professionals alerts to notify you of:

    These are an optional subscription service available as follows:

    • The alert email operates 7-days-a-week, 6.00am to 11.00pm AEST.
    • The SMS alert operates 7-days-a-week, 9.00am to 5.00pm AEST. Occasionally, SMS alerts may be received outside these times, due to the service provider or where mobile phone coverage is not optimal.

    We don't send alerts for:

    • known issues – these are listed on the Notifications section of Online services for agents or the Key updates section of the home page of the portals
    • planned system outages or known technical issues – these are listed on our System maintenance and Technical support pages, and communicated by other channels, like our Tax professionals newsletter.

    Significant unplanned system issue/outage

    A significant unplanned system issue/outage is defined as:

    • a total system outage affecting all tax professionals. For example, Online services for agents, the portals or the practitioner lodgment service (PLS) is not available
    • major loss of system functionality affecting all or most tax professionals. For example, another system has stopped responding to online requests for data
    • time-out errors affecting all or most tax professionals
    • where there is an unplanned extension of a scheduled maintenance window.

    Subscribe to receive alerts

    You and your practice staff can subscribe to one or both of our Tax professionals alert services, and you can subscribe multiple email addresses or phone numbers.

    To receive or opt out of the SMS alert service, send an email from your business email account to and include:

    • subject line 'Subscribe SMS alert' or 'Unsubscribe SMS alert'
    • registered agent number
    • mobile phone number
    • postcode.
