    Know your client

    New session added. This session will cover customer verification requirements, including an update from the Tax Practitioner’s Board. We will discuss Director identification and strengthening the Australian Business Number (ABN) system.

    Our compliance approach

    New sessions added. This session will provide an update on our approach to compliance. The Tax Practitioners Board will also provide an update.

    Director ID and what it means for you. An Australian Business Registry Services update

    The new Australian Business Registry Services (ABRS) will make it easier to register, view and maintain your business details with government in one place. Starting with the introduction of director identification numbers (director ID), this will verify the identity of directors to help reduce false or fraudulent identities. This will also help combat illegal activities that affect small business communities. Join us to learn more about who needs a director ID, how they get one and how you can support your affected clients.

    Newly registered tax professionals

    If you a newly registered tax professional, this session is for you. This session will be delivered by the ATO and the Tax Practitioners Board. Come along and raise any questions you might have in an open environment and hear about some tips and tricks as you progress in your new career.

    BAS agents only

    This session is specifically for BAS agents and will include an update from the Tax Practitioners Board. Keep an eye on our schedule as the topic becomes finalised in the coming weeks.

    An update

    This session will talk about our compliance approach and Single Touch Payroll as we move towards phase 2. The Tax Practitioners Board will also provide an update.

    1. Check the sessions and times available on our WebEx events list pageExternal Link. Unless stated otherwise, times are Australian Eastern Daylight-savings Time (AEDT) from October to March and Australian Eastern Standard time (AEST) from April to September.
    2. Register for events that interest you (numbers are limited for each forum).
    3. We will send you a confirmation email with the details you need.
    4. If you cannot make the forum or you need to contact us about your registration, you can email us.
    5. If you are logging into WebEx for the first time, you can install and run the program before your session by going to our WebEx pageExternal Link.
    6. If you can't make a session, check back regularly as we will run multiple sessions for each topic. The schedule will be updated with more dates and discussion topics in coming months.
