  • Activity statements

    You can lodge and manage your clients' activity statements online using the Tax Agent Portal. The activity statement function allows you to:

    • lodge and revise an activity statement, receiving instant confirmation
    • view your clients' activity statements, both lodged and not lodged
    • view payment options and methods
    • check if an activity statement has been processed
    • receive email notification that an activity statement is available for lodgment via the portal
    • change the delivery of activity statements from paper to electronic.

    On 1 July 2017, we introduced changes to activity statement screens within the Tax Agent Portal. The changes mean:

    • the look of the activity statement screens will change
    • you can complete a Nil business activity statement with just one click – there will be no need to fill each label with a zero
    • you can take advantage of the Simpler BAS reporting changes
    • you can resume a partially prepared activity statement with any computer using the new save function.

    Types of activity statements

    The following activity statements are available on the portal:

    • Business activity statement (BAS)
    • Instalment activity statement (IAS)
    • Annual goods and services tax (GST) return
    • Quarterly GST instalment notice
    • Annual income tax instalment notice
    • Consolidated activity statement.

    The following activity statements are not available in the portal:

    • annual GST information report
    • 2001 annual GST return.
