    You can check on any communication that you are not sure about, or report a phone scam, by phoning us on 13 28 61 from 8.00am–6.00pm (AEST), Monday to Friday. To report unsolicited emails claiming to be from the ATO forward the entire email to

    Emerging risk - GST on imported services and digital products

    Goods and Services Tax (GST) will apply to supplies of digital products and other services imported by Australian consumers from 1 July 2017. This includes digital products such as streaming or downloading of movies, music, apps, games and e-books. It also includes services such as architectural or legal services. If you are reporting a business that you believe is deliberately evading tax by not registering for GST or not remitting GST, please complete the online reporting form and include:

    • the name of the business you purchased the item or service from
    • their website address or url
    • any other information that will enable us to identify the business.
