    Go online

    Going online is the quickest and easiest way to manage your tax and super, you can access the following services:

    • ATO Online services – sole traders can access ATO Online services on any device to manage activity statements and PAYG instalments, manage accounts, make payment arrangements and more.
    • Business Portal – available to all businesses to prepare and lodge activity statements and annual reports, manage accounts and update registration details. In most cases, you'll need an ABN and an AUSkey to use our secure on line services.
    • Manage ABN Connections – a login alternative to AUSkey. Connect an ABN to your myGov account and use your myGov username and password to access government online business services. Available services include the Business Portal, Access Manager and the Australian Business Register.

    ATO app – tax and super on the go

    Our ATO app gives you quick access to handy tools and calculators and answers to frequently asked questions, including:

    • The key dates tool – creates a list of due dates that can be saved as reminders in your smartphone or tablet.
    • myDeductions – can be used by sole traders to track business income, expenses, and car trips. At tax time you can upload this information to pre-fill your tax return or email it to your tax agent, never miss out on claiming a deduction because of a lost or faded receipt again!
    • The business performance check tool – shows how your business compares to your competitors based on our small business benchmarks.
    • Voice authentication – used by sole traders to quickly and securely access our online services. Voice authentication is a fast and easy way to confirm your identity when you call us or use the ATO app; you just need to save your voiceprint with us.

    Learning resources you can access are:

    • Business.gov.auExternal Link – offers access to government information, transactions and services, as well as essential information on planning, starting and running your business.
    • Small business workshopsExternal Link – register to attend your face-to-face workshops to help you understand your tax and super obligations.
    • Small business webinarsExternal Link – watch to find out about tax and super obligations and entitlements for your business. Topics include GST, activity statements, income tax deductions, home-based business, record keeping and more.
    • ATOtvExternal Link – we have wide range of videos that cover tax and super information at a time that best suits you.
    • PAYG withholding – find out if you need to register for PAYG withholding, what your withholding obligations are, how much tax to withhold, payment summaries and more.
    • PAYG instalments – many small businesses automatically enter the PAYG instalment system after they lodge their tax return. If you think you will make a profit on your business or investment income, you can voluntarily enter into PAYG instalments and reduce the tax you may need to pay at the end of the year.
    • Super obligations for employers brochureExternal Link – paying super is an important part of being an employer, run a quick check of your super obligations to make sure you've got everything sorted.

    • Business assistance program – if you need assistance tailored to your circumstances, you can register for business assistance and one of our experienced officers will contact you.
    • Payment plan estimator – use the estimator to help you work out an affordable payment plan for your circumstances then take control of your tax and super debt by organising a payment plan.

    • Support – if you are experiencing mental health issues we can support you with your tax and super commitments.
