    Russell Miller AM is an adjunct professor at the Australian National University College of Law and convenor of the Centre for Strategy and Governance ( Link). Russell is a former chair of Minter Ellison and for over 10 years was the Head of the firm’s Government Division.

    Russell has served in a number of Federal Government positions including as an inaugural director of the National Electricity Code Administrator, chair of the International Air Services Commission, member of the Bureau of Meteorology Advisory Board and of the International Legal Services Advisory Council. Russell has also been the governance adviser to the boards or chief executives of a number of Federal Government agencies.

    Russell Miller has been the chair of two of the Sections of the Law Council of Australia, the Business Law Section and the International Law Section, both heavily engaged in representations to, and consultations with, government across the spectrum of legal policy issues.

    Internationally Russell has served on the advisory board of a Geneva-based international organisation and held various roles in the International Bar Association, including his current position as chair of the committee that works with the World Trade Organisation and member States in relation to cross-border legal services.

    In addition, Russell was an inaugural member of the Advisory Board of the University of Canberra’s National Institute of Governance.
