9. Senate Inquiry into Corporate Tax Avoidance

Shane Reardon led discussion on the Senate Inquiry into Corporate Tax Avoidance.

  • In October 2014 the Senate referred an inquiry into corporate tax avoidance to the Senate Economics References Committee for report by the first sitting day in June 2015.
  • The ATO will be making a submission to this inquiry outlining how it supports large business to comply with their tax and superannuation obligations.
  • The ATO is currently undertaking work to measure the tax gap for income tax, including a specific estimate of the large market tax gap.
