2   Commencement

 

(1) Each provision of this Act specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

The day after this Act receives the Royal Assent.

2. Schedule 1

A single day to be fixed by Proclamation.

However, if the provision(s) do not commence within the period of 6 months beginning on the day this Act receives the Royal Assent, they commence on the day after the end of that period.

 

3. Schedule 2, items 1 to 34

At the same time as the provision(s) covered by table item 2.

 

4. Schedule 2, item 35

At the same time as the provision(s) covered by table item 2.

However, if item 20 of Schedule 1 to the Migration Amendment (Complementary Protection) Act 2011 commences before that time, the provision(s) do not commence at all.

 

5. Schedule 2, items 36 to 139

At the same time as the provision(s) covered by table item 2.

 

6. Schedule 3, items 1 to 49

At the same time as the provision(s) covered by table item 2.

 

7. Schedule 3, item 50

At the same time as the provision(s) covered by table item 2.

However, if item 2 of Schedule 2 to the Cybercrime Legislation Amendment Act 2012 has not commenced before that time, the provision(s) do not commence at all.

 

8. Schedule 3, items 51 and 52

At the same time as the provision(s) covered by table item 2.

 

9. Schedule 3, item 53

At the same time as the provision(s) covered by table item 2.

However, if item 2 of Schedule 2 to the Cybercrime Legislation Amendment Act 2012 has not commenced before that time, the provision(s) do not commence at all.

 

10. Schedule 3, items 54 to 168

At the same time as the provision(s) covered by table item 2.

 

11. Schedule 4, item 1

The later of:

(a) the commencement of the provision(s) covered by table item 2; and

(b) immediately after the commencement of item 20 of Schedule 1 to the Migration Amendment (Complementary Protection) Act 2011.

However, the provision(s) do not commence at all if the event mentioned in paragraph (b) does not occur.

 

12. Schedule 4, item 2

At the same time as the provision(s) covered by table item 2.

However, if item 2 of Schedule 2 to the Cybercrime Legislation Amendment Act 2012 commences before that time, the provision(s) do not commence at all.

 

13. Schedule 4, item 3

Immediately after the commencement of item 2 of Schedule 2 to the Cybercrime Legislation Amendment Act 2012.

However, if item 2 of Schedule 2 to the Cybercrime Legislation Amendment Act 2012 does not commence, the provision(s) do not commence at all.

 

14. Schedule 4, item 4

At the same time as the provision(s) covered by table item 2.

However, if item 2 of Schedule 2 to the Cybercrime Legislation Amendment Act 2012 commences before that time, the provision(s) do not commence at all.

 

Note: This table relates only to the provisions of this Act as originally enacted. It will not be amended to deal with any later amendments of this Act.
