SECTION 165 TRUSTEE NOT TO ACCEPT EXTRA BENEFIT ETC.
A trustee of the estate of a bankrupt shall not:
make an arrangement for receiving, or accept, from the bankrupt or any other person, in connexion with the bankruptcy, any gift, remuneration or pecuniary or other consideration or benefit beyond the remuneration fixed in accordance with this Act;
make an arrangement for giving up, or give up, a part of his or her remuneration to the bankrupt or any other person;
except as provided by this Act, directly or indirectly derive any profit or advantage from a transaction, sale or purchase for or on account of the estate or any gift, profit or advantage from a creditor; or
except with the leave of the Court, directly or indirectly become the purchaser of any part of the estate.
A trustee who contravenes subsection (1) is guilty of contempt of court.
This section has effect subject to section 161B.
