PART 7.7 - REGISTERS OF INTERESTS IN SECURITIES
SECTION 879 INTERPRETATION 879(1) (Definitions) In this Part: ``financial journalist'' means a person who is not a licensee and, in the course of the person's business or employment contributes advice, or prepares analyses or reports, about securities for publication: (a) in a newspaper or periodical; (b) in the course of, or by means of, transmissions made by means of an information service; or (c) in sound recordings, video recordings or data recordings; ``Register'' , in relation to a person to whom this Part applies, means the Register required to be kept by the person under subsection 881(1); ``securities'' means securities of: (a) a public company; or (b) a body corporate or other person included in the official list of a securities exchange.

[When Part does not apply]
If:
(a)
there is in force a written certificate issued by or on behalf of a securities exchange certifying that a member of that securities exchange is recognised by that securities exchange as specialising in transactions relating to odd lots of securities; and
(b)
the member concerned enters into a transaction in relation to an odd lot of securities;
this Part does not apply in relation to any relevant interests in securities acquired by the member as a result of that transaction or in relation to any change effected by that transaction in the member's relevant interests in any securities.
