Contribution transaction error response issues

Last updated 3 September 2023

When you can't accept super contributions paid to you from employers using the Small Business Superannuation Clearing House (SBSCH), you need to ensure your payments to us match the refund amount total in your contribution transaction error response (CTER).

Practices we've identified that don't align with the data and payment standards in the Member registration and contribution user guide (PDF, 576KB)This link will download a file include:

  • making single bulk payment for multiple CTERs
  • rejecting multiple contributions by lodging a single CTER and making multiple payments
  • not having a 'one-to-one relationship between a payment and an outcome/error response message'.

Payments not matching your CTER causes reverse workflow and delays payments being returned to employers.
