Registrations for CCIVs now open

Last updated 27 March 2023

As of 1 July 2022, registrations opened for businesses to register as a Corporate collective investment vehicle (CCIV).

A CCIV is:

  • a type of company limited by shares that is used for funds management
  • an umbrella vehicle that is made up of one or more CCIV sub-funds
  • operated by a single corporate director.

Registering as a CCIV, and a CCIV sub-fund is a 3-phase process:

  1. Obtain an Australian Financial Services License (AFSL)External Link that authorises the corporate director to operate a CCIV.
  2. Register with ASICExternal Link .
  3. Apply for an ABNExternal Link and other tax registrations if applicable, such as a TFN and GST.

Once you have completed all the registration requirements, you're responsible for understanding and meeting any lodgment or reporting obligations you may have.

For information on the registration process and the tax obligations for CCIVs, see Corporate Collective Investment Vehicles.
