Australian-owned resident private entities

Approximately 75% of Australian private entities in the transparency population are linked to groups controlled by wealthy individuals, including high wealth individuals. The groups consist of over 11,000 entities, including companies, trusts, partnerships and superannuation funds.

Of the 350 Australian private corporate entities in scope for the transparency report in 2015–16, 255 (73%) had a tax liability and 95 (27%) did not. Of the 350, 25 (7%) utilised prior-year losses, 7 (2%) utilised offsets, 19 (5%) incurred a tax loss, and 44 (13%) incurred an accounting loss.
